Where is Canada?
Canada is located in North America. It is the second largest country in the world after Russia. The only land border is the border with the United States to the south and the United States to the northwest. In the northeast, Canada also borders Greenland, which is located at its narrowest point only about 20km off the Canadian coast.
Regions
In the east of the country are the Atlantic provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island. To the west, the provinces of Ontario and Quebec adjoin. In central Canada are the so-called prairie provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. To the west is British Columbia. The territories in the north of the country (Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut) are directly subordinate to the federal government and do not form independent provinces.
Time zones:
The Canadian Sir Sandford Fleming was the first to propose a time zone network for the entire world as early as 1876. Canada is traversed from coast to coast by six different time zones.
- Newfoundland Standard Time (UTC-3:30)
- Atlantic Standard Time (UTC-4)
- Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5)
- Central Standard Time (UTC-6)
- Mountain Standard Time (UTC-7)
- Pacific Standard Time (UTC-8)
